Werewords is a fast-paced, social deduction word-guessing game designed by Ted Alspach and published by Bezier Games.

Quick Facts
Players: 4 to 10 players (up to 20 in the Deluxe Edition)
Play Time: Around 10 minutes per round
Ages: 8+
Requirements: Uses a free companion app (available on iOS and Android) to manage the night phase, generate secret "Magic Words," and run the timer.

How to Play
The Night Phase:
  • Players close their eyes while the app assigns secret roles:
    • Mayor: Knows the secret word and answers questions using Yes/No/Maybe tokens.
    • Villagers: Try to guess the secret word.
    • Seer: Knows the secret word and must subtly guide the villagers to guess it without making it obvious who they are.
    • Werewolf: Knows the secret word and works secretly to sabotage the villagers' guesses.
The Day Phase (Word Guessing):
  • Players have a short time limit (usually around 4–5 minutes) to ask the Mayor Yes or No questions to figure out the Magic Word.
  • The Mayor answers only by handing out tokens (Yes, No, Maybe, etc.).
Win Conditions:
  • Villagers win if they correctly guess the word before time runs out—unless the Werewolf correctly identifies the Seer.
  • Werewolves win if time runs out without the word being guessed, or if they successfully guess who the Seer is after the word is found.
  • Villagers can also win as a backup by identifying and voting out the Werewolf if they fail to guess the word in time.
