Another expansion of Catan changes the main process of the game from players trading and constructing to players cooperating against barbarians and competing with each other for plunder.

The gameplay is similar but the feel of the game is completely different

Here are the differences between the game and the basic version:

The hexagonal tiles of mountains, forests and grasslands can produce new goods in addition to the original resources in the game. The city now produces the corresponding goods instead of two resources.
Goods are used to pay for city development. One card pays level one, two cards pays level two, and so on. Level three allows players to gain special abilities, while levels four and five allow players to gain victory points.

In addition to the bandits, there will be multiple barbarian pieces on the game board. There is also a table that records how far the barbarians are from the island. Players roll red and white dice each turn, plus a special event die.

Depending on the pattern on the dice, you may get development cards. The development card has more effects than the basic version, and can even be used to destroy the opponent's infrastructure, steal the opponent's resources, etc. Knights are used to fight against invading barbarians and protect their own infrastructure from other players.
