Carcassonne was designed by German game designer Klaus-Jürgen Wrede and won the 2001 Game of the Year Award.

The name Carcassonne comes from a town of the same name located in southwest France and famous for its city walls: Carcassonne.

There are many ways to score points in Carcassonne. Generally speaking, you will get points by occupying buildings or grass. Players need to place boards each round to help expand the map. They can also choose to use the rice treasures in their hands to occupy buildings or areas. Castles, roads, monasteries and grasslands each have different scoring methods. You can also add different expansions, change the scoring method and increase the types of buildings. It is definitely a game that you will never tire of playing.

The basic version of Carcassonne 2.0 includes the river expansion and the abbey expansion. Carcassonne 2.0 Big Box Edition includes other expansions that add variety to the game.
